The Challenge:
Our client in Abergavenny had a vision to convert an old oak frame barn on their property into a spacious, modern home. They wanted to preserve the character and history of the barn while also adding modern amenities and functionality.
The Solution:
The team at Jones Bros Joinery worked closely with the client to understand their vision and offer expert guidance on design and functionality. We carefully analyzed the structural integrity of the barn and developed a plan to preserve the original oak frame while also adding new support beams where needed.
To modernize the space, we incorporated large windows to bring in natural light, and added a new roof and insulation. We also redesigned the layout to create a open-concept living area, a spacious kitchen, and several bedrooms and bathrooms.
To add warmth and character to the space, we incorporated reclaimed wood and other unique materials into the design. We also worked with local craftsmen to create custom furniture and finishes.
The Result:
Our client is thrilled with the final result. The barn has been transformed into a spacious, modern home that also preserves the character and history of the original structure. Our client can now enjoy their dream home and entertain guests with ease.
