An Introduction to LOLER & Equipment Pre Use Checks (08EB-PKC)

  • Forestry Hub (Machynlleth) Unit 1, Dyfi Eco Park Machynlleth, Wales, SY20 8AX (map)

We are excited to bring two well-known arboricultural Instructor Assessors in the country to you for two 1-day workshops in Wales this February.

Overview

This workshop, is primarily for the purposes of continuing professional development and is designed for individuals who will benefit from gleaning a greater understanding of the requirements of the LOLER regulations and carrying out pre use checks of arboricultural climbing equipment.

The workshop will cover a broad range of subject areas from legislation, conformity, and test standards to the visual and tactile inspection of some of the latest climbing and rigging equipment available on the UK market.

It may be that attendees are current LOLER ‘Competent Person’, however individuals who carry out inspection of arboricultural personal fall protection and rigging equipment would equally find this beneficial.

Agenda

  • An overview of the UK legislative framework pertaining to LOLER Thorough Examination

  • Compliance, conformity and test standards

  • Inspection and thorough examination principles

  • Equipment familiarisation and what’s new

The agenda may be subject to change, but the key areas of focus are as stated above.
