Overview

The FWM, or Forestry Works Manager, is the person or organisation who commissions the work on a forestry site.

In 2022, FISA (Forest Industry Safety Accord) stopped delivering FWM awareness training themselves, instead this is now organised and delivered by specialist training providers.

This one day course is designed for Forestry Works Managers, Site Supervisors, Team Leaders and those managing forestry operations. This course will provide a general oversight and awareness of the responsibilities of a Forestry Works Manager.

This course is suitable as a Refresher for those who have previously undertaken FISA FWM Training.

Objectives

  • Understanding the role of the Forestry Works Manager

  • Oversight of the Health and Safety at Work Act, and the legal Responsibilities of an FWM

  • Understanding Hazards, Risks and Controls

  • Commissioning competent contractors, planning and managing the work

  • Supervision of health, safety and welfare and environmental standards on a worksite.

  • Promotion of a “safety first” culture; incident, accident and near miss

This is a training only course, supported by FISA, designed by mwmac Ltd.
