Arboricultural Association - Tree Pests, Diseases and Fungi (18F-AATPDF)

  • Gregynog Hall, Tregynon SY16 3PL (map)

We are excited to announce this one-day workshop run jointly between The Arboricultural Association and Focus on Forestry First.

This one-day workshop is designed to help contractors and others to improve their recognition and understanding of the insects and other vectors, diseases and other pathogens and other ecological features that naturally populate our trees and their environments.

The workshop will include terminology, the principles of identification and diagnosis - symptoms, signs and indicators – which lead to accurate identification and an analysis of significance.

It will also cover what to do when you are not able to identify specific organisms/ disorders, and where to get help and support.

This logical and systematic approach to any site will provide you with the tools and ability to confidently work through identification of the relevant issues and to present a set of options for treatment where appropriate, thereby ensuring your client’s confidence in your services.

Based on the content of the very popular Pests and Diseases Road Show delivered in 2013 the format of this day will be interactive and include exercises to help establish the skills being taught.

As well as providing essential CPD for those who are regularly carrying out tree work pricing and offering general advice to clients on site and those who attended the Road Show event, the course will also be useful for anyone involved in any aspect of tree work.
