COVID-19 Update: Changes to Funding
Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry
What is changing & why?
Since July 2019 it has been a pre-requirement for any Beneficiary Business accessing the Skills Development funding to hold or complete a minimum of Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry before any other training can be funded.
The ongoing situation with COVID-19 is making it difficult for beneficiaries to access the EFAW+F training. Focus on Forestry First has decided to relax the mandatory requirement between the 1st June - 30th September 2020.
This means that all those who did not manage to gain the qualification before the pandemic or during the pandemic will be able to progress with their training needs & complete the EFAW+F at a later date.
How do I progress?
If you need to continue with your training now, please contact us by emailing info@focusonforestryfirst.co.uk. We will get back to you as soon as possible to help and discuss your circumstances & Training agreement.
Please bare with us as due to COVID-19 we have a significant reduction in our staff numbers.
What if I require this qualification to work now?
Some sites across Wales will require you to hold EFAW+F to enter to work. If this applies to you, please contact us by emailing info@focusonforestryfirst.co.uk so that we can discuss your requirements & help arrange your training. It is still possible to access the training where social distancing measures are able to be met.

HSE have some useful information for businesses with regards to extensions on current qualifications and how you can comply with the law if you have not been able to access training. To view this information on there website, read more…
Will I be expected to complete the training at a later date?
Yes, we will record all beneficiaries who have progressed without already gaining the EFAW+F qualification. We will invite you to complete the training as soon as it is accessible and will expect this to be done before any further training can be funded after the 30th September 2020.
