Boundary Stock Fencing for Supervisors and Managers
Objectives
At the end of the course the participant will have an understanding of:
Their role as a supervisor and/or manager of fencing operations.
The requirements for good site preparation and contract specifications, including regulations, health and safety, public safety and environmental requirements.
Principals and safe working practices of dismantling, erection and maintenance of fencing; including the use of suitable equipment, in accordance with manufacturer and industry best practice guidance.
Different fencing specifications for various situations.
Troubleshooting bad practices, learning from issues, identification of alternative approaches.

It is strongly suggested that the participants have attended the (Forest) Works Manager Awareness and Mechanised Harvesting Courses before attending this event.
Other Information
The course will include visiting site in a forestry and woodland environment.
The ground will be uneven so there will be a need to wear PPE suitable for outdoor visits appropriate to the conditions and weather.
