Overview

This one-day training course is designed to provide comprehensive guidance on the roles and responsibilities of the Forest Works Manager (FWM) as outlined in the FISA Guidance on Managing Health and Safety in Forestry.

The course aims to equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively fulfill the roles and responsibilities of a Forestry Works Manager (FWM) across all types of works, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety in forestry operations.

This course is suitable as a Refresher for those who have previously undertaken FISA FWM Training.

Objectives

At the end of the course the participant will have an understanding of:

  • The Legal System & Understanding all Responsibilities;

  • Guidance on Managing Health & Safety in Forestry;

  • Planning & Risk Assessment;

  • Contractor Management;

  • Site Management;

  • Operational Hazards;

  • Incident Management & Investigation.
