This workshop is designed to help anyone working with trees to learn to identify possible roost features for bats and to know what mitigation protects them and how you can work in a manner that is both legal and not detrimental to bat species.
The classroom session will look at all the legal aspects surrounding bat work and many of the common misconceptions.
There will also be information on different bat species and roosting behaviours.
We will also have a woodland visit where participants will have the opportunity to use endoscopes to look for bats and try to identify possible roost sites using binoculars or the naked eye.
Objectives
Delegates should:
Learn about bats in trees to enable safer/better working practices where bats are involved.
