This online session is aimed at woodland owners or managers who are looking to diversify their income streams and explore ways to make sustainable use of the non-timber forest products in their woods
What's in your wood besides timber? How can you measure and record it to plan a sustainable management and harvesting regime? What are the potential marketing opportunities? This three-hour online session provides a basic overview of potential products, harvesting and management regimes as an introduction to the full 3-day session being run later in March.

Sessions will be relaxed around a slide presentation with opportunities for discussion. The contents of the full course will be presented and the need for application of ecologically sound management and through market research will be emphasised.
Speakers
Bryan Dickinson – providing expertise in wildlife survey, GIS and database management. BSc, MPhil in zoology and ungulate ecology with 30 years’ experience in wildlife and woodland surveys.
Jenny Wong – providing expertise in forestry and non-timber forest product development. BSc, MSc, PhD in environmental science and forestry with 30 years’ experience in forest inventory, community forestry and non-timber forest products.
