Charcoal Burning is an ancient skill, this workshop will provide you with an opportunity to observe & participate in the process, from laying & filling the kiln, to the burn & grading of the product.

Loading & Lighting
Stages of the burn
Controlling the burn
Finished product (Biochar, cooking & working)
Candidates will be part of the whole process including:
Sourcing and preparing the material to burn
Ground prep and site choice for the burn
Kiln set up
Loading the kiln
Lighting and controlling burn
Shutting down the burn
Sorting and grading of the final produce
